Bar Association Appoints Attorney Catherine O'Donnell to Executive Committee

February 3, 2012—Attorney Catherine R. O'Donnell has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Luzerne County Bar Association by Bar President Attorney Joseph Saporito. Attorney Catherine O'Donnell has been awarded the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers designation for 2011 in Pennsylvania.

The official name of the Luzerne County Bar Association [The Association] is the Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association. The Association is presently governed by a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and an Executive Committee. The members of the Association include trial attorneys, judges, government attorneys, public officials, corporate attorneys and general practitioners. The Association's activities include continuing legal education, sponsoring community service programs, maintaining the County Law Library and organizing social functions for its members. O'Donnell Law Team Donates Hoodies and Jackets to the McGlynn Center

January 6, 2012—The O'Donnell Law Offices team has made a generous donation to the children of the McGlynn Learning Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The O'Donnell team provided warm hoodies and jackets to help keep the children comfortable and warm during the cold winter weather.

The McGlynn Center, www.mcglynncenter.com, is a family enrichment center located within the Boulevard Town Homes, 72 Midland Ct, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. The Center is a non-profit, volunteer-driven family educational center operated by the Sisters of Mercy since 1988. The facility provides educational, recreational and social outreach programs and services for hundreds of children and their families.

March 28, 2011—On Monday, 3-28-2011, The Times Leader newspaper honored 40 outstanding Northeast Pennsylvanians who have achieved impressive professional accomplishments and made significant contributions in their communities - all at relatively young ages.

The newspaper presented the third annual 40 under Forty awards during a dinner at the Hilton Scranton Hotel and Conference Center. All 40 honorees were chosen from hundreds of applications received by the Times Leader.

Wyoming Seminary Wins Mock Trial Competition

March 26, 2011—On Saturday, March 26th, the team from Wyoming Seminary won the 28th annual Pennsylvainia Bar Association High School Mock Trial Competition. Wyoming Seminary will represent Pennsylvania in the 2011 National High School Mock Trial Championship taking place May 5-7 in Phoenix.
 
Wyoming Seminary played the role of defense and St. Josephs Preparatory School, Philadelphia County, played the role of plaintiff in the final round of competition. 331 teams from 285 high schools competed in the district and regional levels of Pennsylvania mock trial competition, one of the largest in the nation. After the local competition, 12 high school teams advanced to the state mock trial championships. The competition, sponsored by the Young Lawyers Division of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, provides high school students with a firsthand experience of the American judicial system.
 
Renata O'Donnell, class of 2012, received Best Advocate Award in all four rounds of the competition.
