On Saturday, March 26th, the team from Wyoming Seminary won the 28th annual Pennsylvainia Bar Association High School Mock Trial Competition. Wyoming Seminary will represent Pennsylvania in the 2011 National High School Mock Trial Championship taking place May 5-7 in Phoenix. Wyoming Seminary played the role of defense and St. Josephs Preparatory School, Philadelphia County, played the role of plaintiff in the final round of competition. 331 teams from 285 high schools competed in the district and regional levels of Pennsylvania mock trial competition, one of the largest in the nation. After the local competition, 12 high school teams advanced to the state mock trial championships. The competition, sponsored by the Young Lawyers Division of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, provides high school students with a firsthand experience of the American judicial system. Renata O’Donnell, class of 2012, received Best Advocate Award in all four rounds of the competition.
