Well I am happy to report that my team has chosen a name…. Olympic Warriors.  We now have a team name and a team logo, which is the Olympic circles enclosed in the outline of Luzerne County.  We had several wonderful names to choose from and it was a tough decision, but we are proud to be the Olympic Warriors and we will be finalizing plans for a fundraiser and event regarding the Special Olympics in the near future.

We had a wonderful time at Leadership on Tap which was held on November 4th at The Kirby Center.  Believe it or not, it was the first time I was actually in the Kirby Center since it was known as the Paramount Movie Theatre.  Where does the time go?  It was a wonderful experience and there was plenty of food, drinks and entertainment to keep us happy.  It was a good opportunity for us to mingle and get to know each other better.  We have a large class of 51 people and although only some were able to make it, fun was had by all who participated.

Our next class project is scheduled for December 1st and we will be meeting at Wyoming Seminary regarding the Collaboration/Arts & Culture part of our program.  I believe dancing and learning improvisation techniques will be involved.  I am looking forward to it.

Afterwards, we will be having our Leadership Wilkes-Barre Christmas Party at the Stegmaier Mansion for our class and guests.  I have also never been at the Stegmaier Mansion and am very excited to attend.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
